Jeremy Bradley- So You Think You Can Dance judge Mary Murphy is joining us on the line right now. Hello, Mary.
Mary Murphy- How are you?
JB- Good. How are you?
MM- I'm doing great, all the way down here -- in the land down under.
JB- Now, can you give us just a quick scream to wake up everybody? [interview conducted at 6 a.m.]
MM- (laughing) Are you really sure you don't wanna lose any listeners? (laughing) I will if you want me to, brother.
JB- Go for it.
MM- Go for it?
JB- Yup.
MM- (laughing) All right. (laughing) [Screaming loudly]
JB & MM- (laughing)
MM- I just woke up the whole restaurant here.
JB- Nigel is already covering his ears.
MM- (laughing) I think he's permanently damaged. (laughing)
JB- Is he already stocking up on earplugs?
MM- (laughing)

JB- Well, the search is continuing for America's best dancer. You're on the road right now doing auditions. Tell us about some of the talent you've already seen so far. You've already been in which cities?
MM- We've been in New York, Miami and L.A.
JB- And now you're in Denver.
MM- We are getting ready for Denver, yes.
JB- So, from the cities you've already gone to, if you could give us two names, like maybe a guy and a girl to watch for this year, what names come to mind?
MM- I cannot give you any names right now, but I can say I've definitely seen some things I've never seen before. (laughing) I've seen some scary things coming out of New York that give me nightmares that night! But that's all I can really say about that. Each city has always offered amazing dancers. And it's crazy because, you know, we keep going to different cities and sometimes maybe not so many turn out and then sometimes we get thousands turn up, so there's always been these incredible gems that we've found where we've gone to that have made it into the top 20. So, you know, we're going to Denver, and then we're going to go to Memphis, and then Seattle. And those are all new cities for us this year, so we're pretty excited to see what we're going to find.
JB- For those planning to audition still, what's one thing you would advise them on? We see it all the time on the show, but just judging by what you've already seen this year, what comes to mind as advice?
MM- The main thing is, is what a lot of dancers do, is they build up in the auditions to their best and favourite move. My advice is to get on with it really quick and grab our attention, otherwise… you know, we're more jaded after going into the fifth season, otherwise we might raise the hand and say Next. You know, get on with it. Be unique. Make sure too that, you know, these are very long days that they have to sit through, so make sure they bring food. A lot of dancers end up with cramps because they're not hydrated and they're not eating enough while they're waiting in these lineups to get in to perform for us. So, some people have waited all day and didn't take care of themselves and by the time they get out to their most important audition of their life, they end up not being able to get through.
