Jeremy Bradley- [Pronouncing slowly] Rossi Morreale from Dating in the Dark is joining us right now. Did I do that right?
Rossi Morreale- Yeah, you did.
JB- Perfect. So, you're calling in to rub it in, right? I ragged on the show when I first saw it and now I'm hooked. Yeah, yeah, I'll admit it.
RM- You know, it's a show that, yeah, when you hear about it you get a little skeptical, but you can't judge a book by its cover as the show says. And, you know, you gave it to us pretty hard and now you're addicted and that's what I like to hear.
JB- For those who aren't familiar with the show, the basic concept is people get to know each other in a pitch-black room. Well, explain to me what happens.
RM- Three guys and three girls, they're split up in this mansion (in) different wings of the house and they only meet in this dark room and it's pitch black and there's infrared cameras in there so we can see… basically like night vision, like we're across the way with our binoculars spying on these people. And they just kind of hang out and get to know each other -- sometimes on a very emotional level, sometimes on a very intimate physical level and they end up making out in this dark room and they still haven't seen each other. I'm sure your listeners know; they do it in frat houses all the time! But, this time they're sober! At the very end of the show they wake up… well, they don't wake up, there's no sleep night…
JB- Oh! (laughing)
RM- They get to see each other in the light and they decide if they want to continue to date. And that's kind of when you decide if you have a connection with somebody, how much does looks really matter?
JB- Are there rules for things they can and can't do in that room?
RM- No. Pretty much as much as the other person is comfortable with.
JB- What's the weirdest or wildest thing you've seen so far?
RM- Oh gosh, I've seen some massages turn into straddling and, you know, almost bull riding. I've seen a guy and a girl wrestle. They actually had a wrestling match in the dark. It gets pretty funny, I mean, these people are doing everything they can to try and get to know this person as best they can without seeing them. It's funny too because they're almost not responsible for their actions because they can't see, they're not seeing. It's almost like being in a Halloween costume and nobody knows who you are, so you can kind of do whatever you want. Some people go out there on a ledge and end up crucifying themselves but other times it works perfectly, so it all depends on the person.
