JB- You have quite a few plans on the go right now. You've had some pretty interesting opportunities since your time on the show. I mentioned golf at the top of the call. How often are you hitting the links?
SS- Oh, wow, I'm playing two rounds a week and probably taking about an hour lesson a week with a couple practice days. I'm playing about 15 to 18 charity tournaments per year. So I have to practice a lot to get my horrible game better.
JB- You mentioned at the beginning that the wind has affected filming.
SS- Yes, we are filming a show called The Hidden Jewels of Golf. It's a golf and travel show that is shot either in the United States or anywhere around the world where we find golf courses that are significant and enticing to, not only golfers, but non-golfers as well. It's geared toward places that are historical or because the golf courses are on an interesting property for reasons being either Indian reservation land or they are hidden away in areas that you wouldn't normally find golf courses. You wouldn't know they're there because they're not published or they're difficult to get to -- you have to get to them by helicopter. For one reason or another, these are just really gems of golf that either people don't know about or wouldn't know about unless we told them that they're really missing out on. So, we make a show out of it and get people to go there and really show them why it's a great place to play.
JB- So, where can we see what we're missing?
SS- It hasn't been scheduled to air yet. We're currently in the process of filming and I'm not sure which network it will be on. They're currently in a little bit of a bidding war, so I can't specify what network. We'll know by the spring. One of the outdoor-type networks. We don't know if it will be a golf channel or an outdoor network or if it will be something like a travel channel, because it's golf but it's also travel. I really don't know yet.
JB- One thing that's always important is knowing our rights and strutting our stuff.
SS- (laughing) Exactly.
JB- Do you know what I'm getting at?
SS- I know what you're getting at. That was a very smooth transition!
JB- You do broadcasting, you can appreciate something that lame!
SS- Nice segue! That's why you're on the radio.
JB- That is why I do what I do in the cold, cold Canada weather! For those who don't understand what we're joking about, tell us what I was getting at.
SS- I hosted a "webisodic" series called Know Your Rights, produced by 60Frames Entertainment. It can be viewed on about 20 or 25 websites from YouTube to StefanieSchaeffer.com to 60Frames.com -- it's just about everywhere, including even a few television cable stations. But, on the web, they are two- to three-minute segments and there are about 12 different episodes of basically common sense law tidbits for common folks out there who want to know how not to get ripped off. Tidbits of law that are useful to us all, such as: Is a non-refundable airline ticket really non-refundable? No, it's not non-refundable. How do you get your money back and not get ripped off? What happens when your flight's cancelled and they tell you you don't get your money back? Well, I'll tell you how to get it back. And so you watch those two-minute little segments. What happens if you get pulled over for a DUI? What should you say or not say? How do you protect yourself? What happens if you get pulled over for a speeding ticket? Do you have to let a police officer search your car? Not necessarily. Here's how you protect yourself. Do you really need to hire a lawyer to write a will for you? Well, no. All you really need is a pencil and a piece of paper, not a $2,000 bill to an attorney. These are helpful hints, based in law, that help people. They may not go out and hire a lawyer to know these things, but if they watch these clips, they will save themselves money and hopefully legal fees and protect themselves.
